R. v. S., March 2020 BCPC

Facts – The Crown alleged S. assaulted his wife with a weapon during an argument. S. was charged with several offences, including assault with a weapon. S. maintained his innocence and a trial was set.

Result – After the defence provided material that significantly contradicted the statement and claims of the complainant, the Crown agreed the matter should not proceed to trial and entered a stay of proceedings (Charges Dropped).
